Jos Montferrand, between history and legend

The journey of Jos Montferrand's sculpture, an emblematic figure of the Outaouais forestry industry, is a story of collaboration and the enhancement of local heritage. Born of a floral creation by Mosaïcultures Internationales, this work has found a new life on Gatineau's cultural trail.

To ensure its longevity and better reflect the sturdiness of the character it represents, we covered its structure with durable materials such as galvanized steel, untreated wood, concrete and stone. This resolutely industrial stylistic choice evokes the environment in which Jos Montferrand lived, reinforcing its link with the region's history.
